Board of Supervisors

Neil Barnosky | Chairman
Neil is a native Montanan born to the ranching way of life. He and his wife Gloria were both born and raised in the Ruby Valley. They have three adult children, Jake, Stephanie and Colin, and eleven grandchildren who also live in the area. Neil and Gloria own a cattle ranch just West of Sheridan, which they operate with Jake and his family.

Jeremy Miller | Vice Chairman
Jeremy is a fifth generation Montanan, raised on a family cattle ranch in the Ruby Valley. He owns Frontier Earthworks, an excavation company that specializes in aquatic restoration.

Rick Sandru | Secretary & Treasurer
Rick is a third-generation Montana rancher, currently operating the family ranch in Twin Bridges. Rick is Ruby Valley Stock Association President; Southwest Montana Stockmen Association Director; Ruby Valley Conservation District Supervisor; Montana Stockgrowers’ Association member; and Montana Public Lands Council member.

Gary Giem
Gary ranches on the Big Hole River, in the Upper Ruby, and is a CPA. His daughter Cari is carrying on the ranching legacy, working at the home place outside of Twin Bridges. Gary and his wife, Cindy, have two other daughters – one carrying on the CPA business in Bozeman and McAlister, and one working as CFO at Barrett’s Hospital in Dillon. Gary is a huge supporter of the community, and balanced land use, and is also on the state board of the Montana Association of Conservation Districts representing Area 6.

John Anderson
John is a native Montana who operates Ruby Dell near Alder, MT with his wife, Karen, and brother Jim. John enjoys traveling across the dunes of the Ruby Dell Ranch contemplating cover crops for sandy soils and his passion for diversified livestock. (Just kidding – this great photo is a reflection of his passion for international travel, too!) John has been on the RVCD Board of Supervisors for 45 years!

George Trishman
George, a 5th generation Montanan with a long family history in southwest Montana, has worked in the ranching business for most of his life. He managed the Hamilton Ranch for 25 years where he and his wife Donna raised their five children. George now runs a business in Sheridan and enjoys spending time with his family and working with the RVSA to ensure that the outdoor way of life in the Ruby Valley can be enjoyed by future generations.

Jim Powell | Urban Supervisor, Twin Bridges
I used to teach, but now I just hunt.
